Many people when starting to sell online make the mistake by developing their product first and then find their niche market. This is the wrong process. Your first step should be finding your profitable niche market first. A profitable niche is basically a market where there are already people spending money buying products.

You will waste your time and money if you develop a product which doesn?t have a market. The correct process is of course to find a market where there are people hungry for something? and then devise a product to feed the hunger.

This article will share with you two simple ways I often use to find and research profitable niches quickly. A profitable niche selection process is usually start with your areas of interest, something that you have knowledge and are passionate about.

The first simple and quick way to find profitable niches is to go to Amazon.com. Simply go to the home page and type in the term you are interested in the search box. For example, if you enter the term ?aromatherapy?, you can see there are many results. This will give you a good idea how diverse the market is and how hungry the buyers are? If there are many books selling well, this implies there are people buying? and the niche market can be profitable.

Another way to find profitable niches is to go to Magazines.com. Same as in Amazon.com, look for how many magazines on the topic that you are researching? if there are many magazines about the topic, you know that there are hungry people in this niche area.

Once you have identified the needs, the next step is of course to develop or find a product or solution to satisfy the needs.
